FOLD

A TRAVELING ZINE

LIBRARY

8/23/25-9/13/25

The Weather Station is pleased to present Fold, an exhibition of artist's books, zines, and publications. For this special exhibition, The Weather Station is converted into both a library, an archive and a reading room, bringing together 100+ artworks, each of which reimagines what a book can be.

Fold is art book and zine show featuring over 60 bookmakers working at the intersection of art and text. This traveling exhibition/community library highlights the incredible range of publishing happening across the Midwest, while also making connections to national and international practices and projects.

Taking its cues from the collaborative nature of zines and artist-publishing, the Fold library comes to The Weather Station from stop-gap projects, an artist-run project space based in Columbia, MO (where the first iteration of the project initially debuted). Following this exhibition in Indiana, the library will travel to 100000000, a recently-opened exhibition space in Kansas City. As the collection moves to different artist-run spaces, Fold is reimagined and re-curated to fit each new space and vision.
